Rocksalt Events is happy to present PODUK, the UK’s first podcasting fan convention! PodUK is a one-day celebration of the UK podcasting fandom scene. It’s going to feature a host of brilliant British podcasters who’ll be providing live recordings, panels, meet n’ greets and more besides for their fans to enjoy. Already announced are Wooden Overcoats,The NoSleep Podcast, Podcraft, The Orphans, We Fix Space Junk and A Scottish Podcast, and there are more exciting names to come!
Podcasting fosters community, and we want to help bring those communities together. While the US currently has the monopoly on podcasting, with shows like The Adventure Zone, Critical Role & The Bright Sessions creating amazing, global fandoms, right now there are very few dedicated spaces in the UK for fans of those shows to come together and celebrate them. Not to mention, there are so many incredible British podcasts that don’t get the attention they deserve - yet. If PodUK can, even a little, help those communities come together; help put those British shows into the spotlight and let fans have a space to celebrate them, it’s worth doing.
Though fans are at the centre of PodUK, it will also cater towards aspiring and current podcasters, with ‘how-to’ workshops and networking sessions, amongst other fun activities! Everyone who’s involved in the podcasting scene is encouraged to come along – you don’t have to be on stage to be involved in PodUK! With so many people getting into podcast creation nowadays, PodUK is going to be a promotion-friendly environment, because who knows, maybe you’ll find your new biggest fan there!
